Without a doubt in my mind, the number one thing holding you back from accomplishing the goals in your life is your own self doubt.
It’s something we all struggle with. Even the most successful people in the world have things they tell themselves they can’t do.
Well today, I’d like to introduce to you a technique that I’ve been using for the past few years of my life to help overcome self doubt. It’s a way to not only pump yourself up for something you really want to do, but also identify any shortcomings you might have that you need to improve upon before you can be successful.

I call it, the “Why Not Technique.”
Letting Your Own Beliefs Empower You
Napolean Hill’s entire book, “Think and Grow Rich,” was based upon the idea that the most successful people in the world of his time, people like Andrew Carnegie, Thomas Edison, Henry Ford, and many other great minds of the world, achieved their level of success because they believed so highly in themselves.
They shaped and molded their minds to enhance that belief in themselves, and that success just became a part of who they were.
You had better believe that they had some doubts at some point in their lives, but instead of letting those doubts get the better of them, they stood up to them, and said.
- They identified their shortcomings and worked on them
- They tossed away all outside non-believers that thought they were insane
- And they went after their goals and dreams with a full head of steam – and they achieved them with flying colors
Guess what. You’re a human being just like they were. You’re no different. You’re probably even better in many areas.
And you can do the same thing they did. You can do anything you want to do, as long as you believe.
Overcome Self Doubt With The “Why Not” Technique
The “Why Not” technique means a few simple things, that are some of the most powerful and freeing thoughts in existence when it comes to achievement.
- There’s absolutely no reason you can’t do something
- You have all of the skills and training necessary, or if you don’t, you can acquire them
- There is nothing holding you back from going down this road but yourself
- Let go of your doubt, and fully believe in yourself, and you can achieve your goal
The most powerful internal force you possess is your own mind. If you convince yourself you can’t do something, or you let other people influence you negatively, then you will most surely fail.
But if you believe in yourself 100%, if you eliminate all of your doubt and worry, if you ignore the naysayers in your life, if you wake up in the morning, stare your goal in the face and say “Why Not?” then you can do anything you set out to do.
Your belief is the only belief that matters. Nothing else.
Try The Why Not Technique
Next time you find yourself with even the tiniest bit of self doubt, I want you to relax, gather yourself, and say “Why Not? There’s absolutely no reason I can’t do this.”
Then let go of your doubts, worries, and fears. Recognize that your achievement is up to you, and feel the freedom of mind that comes over you.
Then strive towards that goal.
Some people might say, ‘Why?” – I say, “Why Not?”
